Our son received the game 1-2-3 Stomp! for Christmas. From the first round, we were hooked. I love all of the educational learning with colors, numbers, addition and subtraction. Another great plus is the fine motor skill of putting the numbers into place along with the gross motor skill of stomping and running to get the numbers.
To play, a child “stomps” on the big button in the middle, thus sending the 10 colorful numbers scattering all over the floor. The harder you stomp, the further the numbers fly! The toy then asks for certain numbers, and if you get the right answer for all 10 numbers, it makes the next session harder. The first session just asks for numbers or colors. The second session asks what comes before or after a number. The third level asks what number is missing and then last level adds addition and subtraction to the mix. There are two other bonus games as well including a Group 1-2-3 Stomp. At the end of each level, the game tells you how many seconds it took to finish the round. This allows you to keep trying to go faster!
Also great is how the game encourages listening skills as you must listen to what number/color comes next. This is a game would be an excellent addition to the ABCJLM curriculum because of the numerous skills involved. Use it for numbers, colors, fine motor, and gross motor skills.
The only reason that I didn’t give this game 5 Stars is that there is not an on/off switch (at least I can’t find one.) Also, if you accidently hit a button, the game starts over at the first level. Otherwise, we are really enjoying this game!
