I received a very sweet email from an ABCJLM user. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate emails from you!
Thank you so much for ABCJLM!! … I discovered the site a few weeks ago, we are starting week 3 and love it!
I sit with all three big kids at the table and do our Bible verse, story and character trait all together before we break up to do individual work. I love that they are learning verses and I have some guidance about what to teach them. …We read the story every day then draw something new from it. The first week, they acted out Paul and Silas in jail and had a blast! They couldn’t wait to show their daddy!
My 4 year old, who usually doesn’t like “school work” has really enjoyed all of the activities I’ve gotten from your site. The number and letter posters are a big hit-even the older kids want to do them!
Thank you so much for all the work you have put into this site and for making it available for free. I look forward to continuing with ABCJLM even after we’re out of “preschool”.
I have been meaning to post about using ABCJLM with more than one kiddo at a time. This sweet Mom beat me to it!
Sweet Pea and Bubs are both doing ABCJLM. Sweet Pea is doing the 3 Year Curriculum while Bubs is doing the 4 Year. Together, we start with prayer, calendar activity, and Bible time. Then I start Sweet Pea on an individual activity (Letter Poster, coloring sheet, matching lowercase and uppercase letters, etc.) while I work one-on-one with Bubs. Then we switch. While Bubs and I read, Sweet Pea plays the ABC activities on Starfall.com. While Sweet Pea and I work, Bubs does Earobics. Have I told you lately who much I love this computer program? Later on, we read and do the other activities together.
Little Man, on the other hand…He is more of a challenge. I haven’t figured out the best choice for him. He is in to EVERYTHING, can open doors (even with safety locks), and climbs very well. Makes for a really bad situation if I am trying to focus on school. Right now, Little Man participates in our “group time”. I feel it is important for him to learn to sit still for a small amount of time. He also enjoys the Bible and singing time. Once I need to devote full attention to one of child, Little Man has playtime in his crib or in his room. He enjoys this and we get to have uninterrupted school time. He joins us in our cooking, crafts, and activity time (Memory Obstacle Course, fine motor, and gross motor activities). Coloring is also an activity that he will do for a little while.
Share your ideas of how you hold school time with little siblings.
