The Berenstain siblings have tried out for separate activities at school. They are crushed when they get parts but not the ones they were hoping for. Mama and Papa teach the cubs that God doesn’t love us because we are good or bad. God’s love isn’t about being the star of the basketball team or school play. God loves us because He made us.
This book, like all of the Living Lights series, include activities and questions at the end of the book. With 32 pages, I would suggest this book for older preschool and early elementary age kids due to its length. It would also be fun to read this book in two sittings; stopping where the cubs are waiting on news about the tryouts.
Bubs and I enjoyed reading this book. I have added this book to the 4 Year Curriculum when discussing “love.”
