I saw the article “10 Ways to Unplug Your Weekend and Enjoy Your Family (for Free!)” in the USA Weekend back in March 2010 and thought the ideas were fun!
1. Start your unplugged weekend. On Friday evening, explain to the family the plans for the weekend.
2. Enjoy a fun, easy breakfast. Start the weekend with a fun breakfast.
3. Liven up dinner conversation. Write down some conversation-starter questions.
4. Play a family trivia game. How well do the kids know their heritage?
5. Go on a tiny treasure hunt hike.
6. Try prop charades.
7. Set up an activity center.
8. Have a blackout night. Only use flashlights and candles!
9. Record Memories. As you make memories, write them down.
10. Reminisce. Have a “bonfire” time at the end.
