I received the book Remy the Rhino Learns Patience (Little Lessons from Our Animal Pals) in the mail as a surprise from the publishing company Harvest House. Since I love to receive little packages in a mail, I couldn’t wait to sit down and read this little book. What I found was a surprising little jewel that I know you will want to add to your library as well.
What I love so much about this book is that it is different than almost all of the books in our library. Originality is hard to find in a children’s book search.
Remy is an angry rhino. Everything in the savanna makes Remy mad. The surrounds and other animals are either too dry or too wet; too grumpy or too proud. One evening life is changed when Remy finds himself in a predicament that requires him to learn patience and lose the attitude.
This rhyming book is perfect for studying patience and has been added to the ABCJLM 4 Year Curriculum where appropriate. Children will love the animal illustrations and will find humor in Remy’s situation. Written for ages 4-8, use Remy as an example of learning to wait without complaining.
