Several months ago I mentioned that my mom gave me a 1993 issue of Shining Star magazine. Included in this issue is an excerpt from Jody Capehart’s book – Cherishing and Challenging Your Children. The article called “Making Meaningful Memories”, contains practical tips to create family traditions and memories throughout the year. Each month, I will be featuring suggestions from this article and Ms. Capehart’s book.
March:
1. Celebrate spring. Relate the new life all around us to the new life that we have in Jesus.
2. Celebrate March coming in like a lamb or a lion. What symbolism do we have in the Bible about the lamb? Who did the lion in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe represent? Read the book and discuss it. {For younger children, do a lamb or lion craft.}
3. Celebrate Easter if it comes in March or wait until April. Discuss why Easter comes at a different date each year. {Google the answer if you are unsure.}
