I have been so convicted about memorizing scripture. Psalms 119:11 says, “Thy Word have I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you.” Want to stay away from sin? Memorize scripture! After hearing from so many of you, I see that you also desire to do this but haven’t had the motivation to move forward.
So, I have added a Memory Verse to this blog and the ABCJLM site called “Sanity Saving Scripture.” I will change them as I learn them. After the kids say their Books of the Bible each morning, they are quizzing me on my verse. Nothing like a little “child” pressure.
The verses I will be choosing are ones out of the Praying the Scriptures for Your Children and verses that apply to areas in my life that I need to yield to the Holy Spirit and develop self-control. If you have a verse you want to learn that you would think would be beneficial to all of us, please let me know!
Verse #1:
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Ephesians 4:29
You will find the verse of the “time period” (I would like to say week but that might not be attainable) in the right column of this blog. You can also find the verse on the main page of the ABCJLM website. It is amazing how hiding God’s word in my heart truly is “sanity saving!” I hope that you will join me in memorizing Scripture!
In some past blogs, I have listing several different technical “helps” to memorizing scripture that you have shared with me. Here is a review of a few of the apps available.
Doesn’t matter what method you use, just do it!
