I had seen an idea on the FamilyFun.com website. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find all of the recommended ingredients. And, I have trouble following directions anyway. So, I set out to create my own.
Ingredients:
Cupcakes in liners
Chocolate icing
Candy corn (this is extremely hard to find after Halloween so keep this in mind!)
Mini Marshmallows
Directions:Frost the cupcake.
Stick 4-5 candy corns in the top of the cupcake to create the feathers.
I discovered a bag of toasted coconut marshmallows in my cabinet. By cutting these in four ovals, their brown color worked perfect for the turkey wings. As you can see in the top picture, I used both the inside cuts and the outside cuts. Of course regular large marshmallows would work as well.
Add two mini marshmallows down the middle for the turkey’s head. Break off the tip of a candy corn to create the beak. Lay a small piece of licorice between the beak and the mini marshmallows. With the gel icing, add an eye.
This recipe is so much easier to do with kids than some of the other hat and turkey desserts that fall apart without any pressure. The kids enjoyed making them with me!

Adorable! I got all the stuff to make these at the grocery store yesterday! Thanks for the great idea! The kids will love it and I love candy corn! 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving!
