If you have read my last few reviews on Karen Kingsbury’s super famous Baxter Family series, you will remember that I wasn’t thrilled with the end to the Above the Line Series. I found myself thinking “move on.” Why I doubted Karen Kingsbury…I don’t know. Not only did she move the story along; she drew me in quickly and deeply.
For those not familiar with Karen Kingsbury, it all started with the Redemption Series. It was in this series that readers were introduced to the Baxter Family. As readers watch this family live their lives, on each page, they can’t help falling in love with the characters. The author kept the story going through multiple series. Currently on the fifth series, each series builds on the lives of the Baxter family and their friends.
Learning (Bailey Flanigan Series) is the second in the newest series. Typically I give an overview of the book. Since the books are building, in case you are a few books behind or haven’t started the series, I don’t want to give any of the plot away.
Boy did I enjoy this book. My interest was kept from page 1 to 328 wondering what would happen to the infamous Bailey Flanigan and Cody Coleman. As I read, I developed an opinion about the characters but I wonder if Karen Kingsbury shares my feelings. Will she take the story the way I think it will play out? Only she can answer that question. An answer that I will find out in the fall when the next book is released and in the spring when this series is finished.
Until then, I will wonder…and try to remember that Bailey and Cody aren’t real people I know. Silly me, they are just characters in book!
Thank you to Zondervan for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

I have been reading Karen Kingsbury since I discovered the first two books in the Redemption series on the library shelves YEARS ago. I fell in love with her books and have read every single one of them. I am a huge fan of her book trailers on facebook. I love Cody, but think that this may go the other way…I, too, must remember that they aren't real people 🙂 Waiting patiently for Learning to arrive at the library. Look forward to your next review!
