Here it is. Today. The day we avoid like the plague. What used to be a normal date on the calendar changed to a date we’d rather avoid. April 19th…the day that reminds us the hole in our hearts is real. But, I see today differently this year. God is reminding me yet again that our pain was not in vain. My sister’s 18 years were not a waste.
Yesterday God gave me this verse in Isaiah 55:
8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the LORD.
9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
God sees the whole picture and knows the outcome.
For those of you who remember our family around this time each year. Thank you.
For those of you who remember our family throughout the year with visits and hugs. God bless you.
For those of you who tell our story, talk about my sister – her smiles, her laughter, and learn from her mistakes, you are turning our pain into God’s glory. Praise the Lord.
Just a week ago today, God welcomed a little girl into His family because a mommy was grieving. If you have not read the story, please take a moment to read it. Share it with others. Encourage those you know who are hurting. In doing that, you are blessing our family.
A teenager’s death. Grief and heartache for family and friends. Not in vain.
