I just finished reading 1 Corinthians in my quiet time. This was my key verse for Chapter 16.
I Cor. 16:13-14
Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.
Let all that you do be done with love.
I know that this verse has other meanings but for right now the verse spoke to me about raising our children. For those times when I am tired and don’t want to follow through with my words, God is saying “keep going”. “Don’t give up.”
But it is the next verse that reminded me that all discipline is to be done in love. Wow…I miss that one sometimes. I get caught up in my expectations and my wishes and forget that our three little blessings are just that – little blessings. My words turn ugly and my tone doesn’t reflect my heart’s true feelings towards them.
Then I am reminded how many times God continually forgives me for those “bad choices” that I make. He doesn’t yell at me or look down upon my actions. Instead He extends His arms in loves.
