There is a lot of talk in the education world about No Child Left Behind (NCLB). But what is it really? I found a pamphlet called “A Quick Guide to Understanding No Child Left Behind” published by the Center for Effective Parenting. Over the next few days, I will be touching on NCLB to hopefully help answer your questions.
No Child Left Behind (NCLB) is a federal education law. The purposes of NCLB include increasing the accountability of public schools, improving school achievement, and closing the achievement gap. NCLB seeks to eliminate the achievement gap between different groups of students such as those based on race/ethnicity or on family income.
