Combating The Commandant of Confusion: A Bibleman Live Adventure
We don’t do superheros (mostly because of Bubs’ night terrors) but I love the idea of Bible Heros. I had seen Bibleman DVD’s and action figures in our local Christian Bookstore. But, I knew nothing about the characters or the plot. I was curious because we have two boys. When Thomas Nelson offered the Combating The Commandant of Confusion: A Bibleman Live Adventure DVD to review, I was excited.
Positives: Quoting scripture combats evil and gains the Bible heros strength. By watching the DVD your child will memorize Bible Verses from shear repetition. The “Wild at Heart” spirit of boys and men will enjoy the action and superhero plot. At the end of the DVD, salvation is explained and an invitation prayer is given.
Improvements: This particular DVD was a live taping of a performance that the Bibleman team did to an audience of children who appeared to be mostly preschool and early elementary age children and their parents. The sound was prerecorded which become evident when an actor forgot a line or wasn’t quite on cue. The acting and choreography was well memorized – and it showed.
Momma C’s Thoughts: Honestly, I was very disappointed. I do hope that because this DVD was a live recording that the rest of the Bibleman Dvd’s are different. It isn’t that I wouldn’t want our boys to watch this because they are definitely hearing truth. There are just some really good, solid Dvd’s out there available for your children that are so much better. I do have to say though, as soon as Bubs finished watching it he said, “I loved that!” So, the advice of Momma C or the advice of Bubs? You choose!

What I've seen of Bibleman is pretty cheesy. Just not top quality in my opinion.
