We have been in prayer for a baby who is in the same CVICU as Bubs was in. I read this family’s blog and my heart just breaks for what they are going through. It reminds me of the emotional roller coaster that having a baby in the ICU takes you on.
I have also learned that just because you are finally able to bring that precious baby home, doesn’t mean that all of the issues are over. I really wish that the cardiologist and NICU doctors would explain that there are lasting effects for an infant to be flat on its back for days along with surgery and medications. I feel like families could be on guard for issues such as sensory if they pop up.
Until then, I pray for this family and this precious baby. Not just for these next few days and weeks but for the next few years.
