I love praying the scriptures. There is power in praying God’s Holy Word. The scripture and prayer below comes from a message spoken at our church this summer. This morning, I have prayed this for each one of you!
Colossians 1:9-14
9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,
10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,
11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience,
12 and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. 13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves,
14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Dear Father, please fill my brothers and sisters with knowledge of Your will through all spiritual wisdom and understand.
I pray this in order that they may live a life worthy of You and may please You in every way.
Father may they bear fruit in every good work, grow in the knowledge of God, and be strengthened with all power according to Your glorious might so that they may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully give thanks to You.
God, You have qualified them to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.
For You have rescued the ABCJLM families from the domination of darkness and brought them into the Kingdom of the Son You love, in whom they have redemption and the forgiveness of sins.
In Jesus’ precious and holy name I pray…
I love the third paragraph and pray it for myself as well.
That I may grow in the knowledge of God and be strengthened…that I may have great endurance and patience and in turn I may joyfully give thanks to God.
Parenting and teaching is hard work. But as I grow in knowledge of God, I will receive strength, endurance, and patience. Praise God!
Using the underlined words, pray this prayer for yourself, a family member, or a friend. There is power in the Word!

I woke up this morning with a most unusual peace-it was as if the sun was shining literally brighter. A feeling I can't remember the last time I had-back before I had children most likely. I was truly stumped as to why I was feeling that way especially now, considering I got some bad news yesterday about my teenage son's medical condition and found out I somehow need to get him on a wheat, egg, dairy, nut, soy, and shellfish free diet to try to treat it. Did I mention he is a teenager? ha! So when I read on facebook that you had prayed for me, I had to read the blog. And then I understood. Thank you for touching the lives of people you don't even know. I feel His strength, endurance and patience as I begin today's search for answers on how to change our entire lifestyle. You really are a blessing to others! Thank you.
