I haven’t been happy with the tracing worksheets on the ABC Jesus Loves Me website. So, I finally had the to time update most of them.
You will notice that the worksheets now come in four types and the lines are colored.
Let me back up…Bubs works on his letters with his OT each week. After getting a strong handle on the uppercase letters, he moved to the lowercase letters. This proved to be a challenge. I got the idea to color code the tracing lines to help him remember that most of the lowercase letters start on the middle (green) line and end on the bottom (red) line. This is one of the changes to the tracing worksheets. It has proved to really help Bubs.

Secondly, I moved the guide boxes down on letters that went below the bottom (red) line. It is amazing what the guide boxes do to help him!
Next, I redid the number worksheets. I realized that all of the dots were confusing. So I limited the red and green dots to the numbers 0-9 and only placed the green dots on higher numbers.

You should check out Handwriting Without Tears! It is recommended for kids with SPD, and it is wonderful! It introduces the letters in a similar developmental progression as to what you're using, and has them write the letters in "boxes" similar to your guide lines. You definitely don't have to buy everything they suggest to use their approach, as a matter of fact, you could pretty much make your own stuff using the same teaching strategies. It's GREAT! The step by step instructions, repetitive verbal cues, non-cluttered worksheets, sensory activities, and developmentally appropriate progression make it PERFECT for my son with SPD. If you haven't checked it out already, I highly recommend it, obviously.
