During this Christmas season, it is easy to lose sight of the precious little time that we have with our little ones. We get wrapped up in the busyness and forget about the blessings running around underfoot.
Last night, I declared “Girls’ Night.” After supper, Sweet Pea and I headed behind closed doors and spent some quality time together. We hit the bathtub.
With swimming suits on, the bathtub as a mini swimming pool can turn into a retreat and memory maker. To say that we had fun would be an understatement. Daddy keep the boys out and we had time to talk and giggle. Sweet Pea wanted to play catch (with a luffa). We splashed (with the curtain closed) and pretended it was raining (with the shower on).
My point isn’t that you have to hide out in the bathtub. The point is just to be intentional. You could play in the closet or under a bunk bed. Put a blanket over a card table. Just take 20 minutes. You will feel better and you will make a little boy or girl smile a little brighter.
