Tissue paper art activities have become common around here. So have rainbows. This is the latest in our art collection – a tissue paper rainbow. This activity would be great for St. Patrick’s Day, during the month of April (April Showers), a unit on rainbows, or studying Noah.
The kids are getting pretty good about knowing the colors of the rainbow. God gave us a rainbow on the way to church and the kids got to see first hand those beautiful colors.
Items Needed:
Glue
Tissue Paper (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, white) cut into 1″ squares
pencil or something to wrap the tissue paper around
Piece of construction paper or cardstock
Directions:
Draw the arches for the rainbow on the paper.
Show the kids how to wrap the tissue paper loosely around the eraser end of the pencil. Dip it into the glue (only the tip) and place on the rainbow.
We used white tissue paper on the bottom of the rainbow to make clouds.
