I know that the Wonder Hanger is a little extreme for me to be reviewing but hear me out – the opportunity presented itself and I thought “if this thing can make my life easier – why not?” So, for the past week, I have found myself using the Wonder Hanger.
I think everyone has seen the commercial:
The Wonder Hanger® is an affordable tool that’s great for any Spring Cleaning features. This cascading clothes organizer increases closet space by enabling you to stack clothes vertically. Each Wonder Hanger holds 5 wood, metal or plastic hangers. There are 8 hangers to a package – enough to hang 40 garments. The open-mouth design allows you to easily add or remove your jackets, skirts, pants and shirts. Supporting up to 20 pounds, it can hold up to 5 heavy winter jackets.
You can use it to group complete outfits or similar items, organize by color or season, and hang handbags or belts. It retails for $9.99 and can be purchased at major retail chains including Walmart, Target, Bed Bath and Beyond and CVS and online at Amazon or Wonder Hanger.
I was curious. I really have lots of closet space so hanging clothes isn’t a problem. But I wanted to give them a try because I thought it might be a help in organizing clothes. (Sorry. Major Type-A here!)
Momma C’s Thoughts: I was glad to see that the Wonder Hanger can easily hold any type of hanger. They supported the weight of five-4T outfits easily. You can easily move them from one closet to another as your needs change.
When I used the Wonder Hanger for bulkier outfits, I was surprised to see the clothes sticking out so far once the hanger was dropped down. On the commercials, you see the Wonder Hanger holding thin clothing thus looking very narrow. Makes sense just not something that I had thought about. I was hoping I could use this for winter coats but found that very little space was saved due to bulkiness.
I could see where the Wonder Hanger would be extremely helpful if closet space is hard to find. Just remember that when the Wonder Hanger is hanging down, the lowest clothes will hang 11″ lower than when hanging on the bar.
In short – I could take them or leave them. Most places that I tried to use them, I ended up removing them. I did keep the Wonder Hanger in my daughter’s closet for her spring jackets. Otherwise, most have not found a home – yet. We will keep searching!
