Your Therapy Source shared a link to a very interesting link today: Ready, Set, Fly! A Parent’s Guide To Teaching Life Skills
Ready, Set, Fly! A Parent’s Guide to Teaching Life Skills was created through a series of discussion groups with foster and adoptive parents, teens, and young adults at the Tucson Division of Casey Family Programs. The goal was to develop a practical resource to help caregivers teach youth some of the skills that are needed to enable youth to live successfully on their own.
The book is divided into several chapters on topics such as Daily Living Skills, Housing, Transportation & Community Resources, Money Management, Self-Care, Social Development and Work & Study Skills.
The skills are divided into levels for ages 8 to over 19.
Although this is too old for several of you who read this blog, I think it is interesting and something to hang on to.
