Since releasing the Curriculum in book form, I’ve received so many kind messages from you! I can feel the excitement in each note, and I’m just as excited for you. As we get ready to begin another school year, I want to share some of the ways I’m preparing—maybe these ideas will help you, too.
This year, both Sweet Pea and Little Man will be doing the 3 Year Curriculum. Little Man has four years until kindergarten, so we’ll focus on just the basics with him. Sweet Pea has two years left, so this will give her the foundation before starting the pre-k 4 Year Curriculum next year.
9 Suggestions to a Strong Start
To help you start the year strong, here are nine things I suggest for using the ABCJesusLovesMe Complete Curriculum:
1) Gathering all of the supplemental supplies – books, games, art supplies, and children’s Bible. Place library holds on the Books of the Week or order online from Amazon or your favorite retailer.
2) Order the Curriculum
3) Gathering or make supplies for activities and crafts
4) If you have decided to use flannelgraph to tell the Bible stories, cut out the flannelgraph Bible characters needs for the stories
5) Print off the Objective Checklist so that you have a good idea of what is known and objectives that need to be focused on
6) Preparing a “School Zone” so that you have all of the supplies needed and minimal distractions – also make sure that it has good lighting and a desk that is appropriately sized for your child(ren)
7) Look over the the Week’s Lesson Overview and other helpful hints to help you Get Started
8) Join the ABCJLM Facebook Group and Forum so that you can ask any questions and read what others are doing
9) Ask the Holy Spirit to guide your time
