Every family has “their” tater-tot recipe. Each recipe has a little “thing” that makes it special but they are all sheer goodness. A comfort food that brings everyone to the table.
Because the meat is not browned ahead of time, this casserole can be assembled in mere minutes. Put it together ahead of time and place in the refrigerator or freezer.
Place 1 pound hamburger on the bottom of a pan.
Isn’t it great how you don’t have to brown it ahead of time??? Of course if you want to, you can. Just cut down the oven time to 30 minutes total cooking time.
Then place one can of corn on top of the hamburger. You could do green beans or peas as well.
Carefully spread one can of mushroom soup over the corn.
Place the frozen tater tots on the top. I personally like more tater-tots but this is what the recipe called for.
Bake in the oven for 1 1/2 hours at 350 degrees. Because the meat isn’t precooked it will take longer to bake than a typically casserole.
Recipe:
Tater Tot Casserole
1 pound hamburger
1 can corn or peas drained or frozen
1 can mushroom soup
1 pound tater tots
Put the hamburger on the bottom of a pan. Then place the corn on top of the hamburger. Carefully spread the mushroom soup over the corn. Place the frozen tater tots on the top. Bake in the oven for 1 1/2 hours at 350 degrees.

My son would love this, but he'd want melted cheese on the top!!
