My kids are begging for me to write this review so that I will finally release these two books into their care. The Pocket Bible Doodle Book: Pocket-sized edition
The Pocket Bible Doodle Book “allows kids to interact with Bible stories in a unique way rather than simply reading them. Unfinished drawings and fun prompts encourage creativity while simple and humorous text relate key Bible stories.” Classic Bible stories like Creation, Noah, Ten Commandments, Jonah fill the pages of this book (available in colors green or blue.)
Here are two examples:
Pharoah dreamed of seven fat cows and seven skinny cows, then seven full heads of wheat and seven thin heads of wheat. Finish the drawing of this dream.
Jesus is the vine. We are the branches. What grows on this vine? Add to the vine already drawn.
Because each page includes a drawing prompt, the child would either need to be able to read or be read to. Suggested age is 8 and up though I feel younger kids could do some of the pages. It would be best that the child have a base knowledge of the Bible story as it might be hard for a child to complete the drawings without it
My only beef with the books is that they are not spiral bound and thus do not lay as flat as I would like. The books are string bound so this should help with the binding wear and tear.
These little books would be perfect for waiting rooms, restaurants, quiet time, car trips…. Perfect stocking stuffers. (I will remind you of these closer to Christmas time!) They are small enough to place in my purse for those needed times.

Very cool! I've never seen the Bible ones though I've seen many other types of these. I always thought I'd rather give my kids blank paper and let them be creative, but if they're reinforcing Biblical knowledge, well then that's another story! I'll have to keep an eye out for these. Maybe they'd be a good Easter Basket treat!
