How many times have you sung the song, “Jesus Loves Me”? Over and over you sing the words of love from a Shepherd to His lambs. “Jesus loves me, this I know. For the Bible tells me so…. Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me. The Bible tells me so.”
And most of us, in our heart-of-hearts, believe it. Why? Because the Bible tell us so!
But what about the other attributes the Bible declares true about you?
As a daughter of the King, you are beautiful. You are amazing. You are precious.
But, let’s be honest. When I look in the mirror, I don’t say to myself, “Wow, Heidi! You are beautiful!”. But my heart is beginning to realize that if I am going to believe that Jesus loves me, because the Bible tells me, I also have to believe the other things the Bible declares about me.
Today begins a new series called “What God Declares about Me is True.” For the next several months, I will be sharing truths from the scriptures. Promises from God, about us, taken from specific verses.
I encourage you to write each promise on a note card. As we go through this series, combine the promises to read on those days that the enemy is hitting you with lies. Declare the truth!
Here is promise number one!
Romans 15:7 – Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.
Psalm 139 – You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar….
