Are You Going to Stop Fighting It?

This is a post I wrote a while back but for some reason it was not finished and never got published. I often wonder if God did this because He knew you would need to read this today.

If you follow my blog – OurOutofSyncLife – you know that our family is struggling right now. Well, we have been for a while.

Actually, I am struggling.

I am fighting where God has me with children who have special needs. I am fighting the comments from others, the four trips a week to therapy, the extra energy it takes, the opportunities that our family is missing out on because of it all… Anger, bitterness, kicking, screaming, fighting.

In my quiet time today, God showed me that He has me where He wants me. That “in the eternal scheme of things, He’s only asking me to do this hard thing for a few minutes. I can be faithful!”

Then I read Acts 17:26-28.

From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands.  God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.  ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’

I am where I am, so that I will seek God. So that I will see my need for God and glorify Him.  Remember Jeremiah 29:11?  He has a plan for me and none of this will be wasted.

So, quit fighting where God has you. Embrace it. Accept it as the “new normal” and good knowing that God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent.

What situation are you fighting right now?

I am unable to find the source of the above quote.   If you know the source, please contact me so that I can get it added.

You have no idea how much I needed to hear this today. No idea.

Thank you for your words today. This is what I have been fighting,"He has me where He wants me." I've been convincing myself that this wasn't his plan, that others have put me in this position. That he had other ideas for us. But I know if I accept that I am where I am, so that I will seek him, he will shower me with his peace. Thank you.
