The Building Blocks of Handwriting
While working alongside my son’s Occupational Therapist, I learned that the key to handwriting is in the process and that each level is a building block for the next. The ABCJesusLovesMe Handwriting Curriculum is a simple curriculum to teach handwriting that builds confidence, not frustration through progressive activity sheets.
To begin, the child learns to trace the five movements used to create all letters and numbers. Then the child begins tracing large letters while using unique formation chants. For fun learning opportunities, the child uses Letter Posters for play, art, and tracing.
Handwriting Curriculum Worksheets
When fine and gross motor development is secure, the child is ready to write letters and numbers. The Handwriting Curriculum walks the child through each process in a simple way to help the child be successful. The final sets of worksheets provide opportunity for the child to write the letter or number while diving into phonics or 1:1 correlation, visual perception, creativity, and art – all activities to prepare for kindergarten!
