Yesterday I shared with you points that I am learning from Beth Moore concerning having a victorious day. And to have a victorious day, my day must start with quality time at the feet of my Savior. Specific activities were given to make sure my heart and mind are filled with the Holy Spirit and the power and glory of God each day.
A year and half ago, I added “I’m a 5:16 Gal” to the ABCJLM website. This catchie little name came
from an interesting button that I found while surfing the web. I clicked on it and I fell in love with the idea. Here is what the website had to say:
What is a 5:16 Gal?
A 5:16 gal is a gal who has decided that she wants to redeem the time with her Savior. She is choosing to rise early, before the day takes her away, to sit at the feet of Jesus. Why 5:16?
Ephesians 5:16 says, “making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.” The literal meaning is “redeem the time.” We are seeking to redeem the time and make the most of every opportunity to seek the Lord with all our hearts. Because the days are evil. We must prepare for battle each and every day – sometimes just to get through the day!
I was hooked! Although the idea original started with a Mom and her daughters, it spread over to the website Like a Warm Cup of Coffee. I asked permission to share it at ABCJLM. Now, I am extending the invitation to you! Who needs to redeem the time with her Savior more than a Mom?
You can join us on Facebook for the 5:16 Gal Group! If you need accountability, message the group and ask for a sister in Christ to hold you accountable. There is also a forum and Twitter “516 Twibe” where you can chat live with other 5:16 Gals!

Right now, the enemy is working overtime in some of your minds. While you like the “idea” of getting up early and having a quiet time with the Lord, you aren’t convinced. You are saying…my kids get up so early. I get so little sleep as it is. I don’t know how to have a quiet time. And the list goes on and on.
Friends, I get overwhelmed with all of the “jobs” that I have as a wife, mother, and friend. I. Get. Tired. I understand where you are. And no, I don’t do this perfectly. My heart really wants to but my flesh is weak.
But, I promise that you will be strengthened. I promise that if you simply get up, go to the feast the God has provided for us, and eat – we will be blessed. And like me, wonder why you didn’t start this a long time ago!
