I recently read a quote by Christina Applegate about how she compares the show Married With Children (which made her famous) to TV today.
It’s so tame (laughing). I feel like we paved the way for the destruction of morality on the tube.
Are you kidding me? I seriously had to read this twice to make sure that I didn’t misread it.
I will agree that morality has been destructed. Because of this, I believe that it is even more important for parents to monitor everything viewed on the television.
Bubs keeps asking when he will have a TV in his room. The answer he receives is never – at least while he lives in our home!
Our kids average about two hours of TV a week. When they are watching TV it is a show like Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood or a Boz video. I have even stopped watching the news with them in the room as I do not want them viewing commercials let alone some of the news.
There are times when my sanity requires Mommy to have a break. I am very thankful that we have quality videos and programs to watch. I caution you to use the TV as a babysitter. More importantly, make sure you know exactly what you child is watching from beginning to end.
