After much thinking and your emails, I am changing the letter order on the 4 Year Curriculum. I am also adding the uppercase letters to the 3 Year Curriculum. Let me explain.
When I original set up the curriculum, I decided to use a “phonic” order for the 4 Year Curriculum – using letters that are most used in basic word to begin reading. But, as I state on the website – Don’t skip over important steps! As the 3 Year Curriculum is focusing on learning the letters, the 4 Year curriculum should focus on writing.
With that said, the new order will follow the Letter and Number Progression Worksheets I created earlier. Considering this is what I used to teach Bubs, it makes sense to use it on the curriculum. 🙂 The number order will also follow the letter formation.
While using the 3 Year Curriculum with Sweet Pea, I realized that it works well to teach the capital and lowercase letters at the same time. Especially since so many letters look the same or very similar.
I welcome your comments and suggestions. And, I ask for your patience in this change over. I will start on Lesson 1. For those of you following the ABCJLM calendar, I will switch the remaining 11 lessons after the individual week is over.
Your emails make a difference. Keep the comments coming!
