I received a set of Agapeland Cd’s for review. I debated on whether to give individual reviews or put them together. I decided to place them all on one blog because they really belong together. These Cd’s are classics. Many of them, I grew up listening to on records!
Because of their “age”, these Cd’s aren’t going to sound like the modern children’s Cd’s. But they have stood the test of time. If you remember the songs, then they are ones that your children and grandchildren need to hear as well.
Music Machine: The Fruit Of The Spirit CD
This Cd is suggested on the ABCJLM website because it is one of the best. Classic songs like “Herbert the Snail” as well as eight other Fruits of the Spirits songs. There are several “Music Machine” Cd’s. All of them are great. Bubs listens to one of them during his quiet time. He loves the song “God is So Big” and learned the words. He couldn’t wait to teach it to me!
The Amazing Book CD
This is not one that I was familiar with but it contains the same quality storyline explaining why the Bible is truly an Amazing Book. It also contains a song “Sixty-six Books” that goes through all of the books in the Bible.
The Birthday Party CD
Another one I am not familiar with. My first instincts of this CD was pretty shaky. I went on some other review sights to see if I was missing something. Turns out that some people have very fond memories of this CD. If that is the case, definitely purchase it. As an honest reviewer, I would not recommend this CD because there are so many other CD’s available with much better music, storyline, and depth.
Bullfrogs & Butterflies: God Is Great CD
Another one of those from my childhood. I have good memories of this one but I found that I only remember the theme song which tells me that I didn’t listen to this one as much as I did the Music Machine record. Still a great classic.
The Story of Little Tree CD
Another new one for me but one that I wish I would have grown up with.
With The Story of Little Tree music CD from Alpha Omega Publications, your children will hear the message of Christs birth, death, and resurrection interwoven through the story of a small tree and his experiences growing up. From the moment he first sprouts out of the ground, Little Tree learns that there is a special plan for his life. One day, however, after growing a little older, Little Tree finds himself in a horrible storm and gets struck by lightning. Left with a huge, gaping hole, Little Tree believes his life is worthless until a special traveler with kind eyes stops under his branches and changes his life forever.
Intertwined throughout the story are songs. Christianbook.com suggested this CD for ages 2-7. I believe this CD would be better suited for ages 4-9. Again this is an older production so it is not going to have the “newer sound” of today. Personally, I would really like to see this story in print form. Although it may be available, I have been unable to find it.
