I love the time that I get to read to my kiddos. I especially love when I get to read to Bubs because of his age he gets into the books so much more than the other kiddos.
Last night before bed we read a one of the newer Berenstain Bear books, written by Michael Berenstain. Here is a summary:
Although saying bedtime prayers is a habit in the Bear household, Brother Bear isn’t sure why they do it. But when he sees a friend on his baseball team praying at the game, he decides to try it himself. Things don’t work out as he expects though, and Brother Bear learns that although prayers are always answered, they aren’t always answered as we expect.
Bubs chuckled and laughed at the Bears as they learned a life lesson.
This book is geared toward ages 4-8 as the sentences are longer and each page contains more words. My little ones wouldn’t have sat through the whole book for sure. Unlike many children’s books that I have read, this book covers the topic of prayers that we feel are not answered. You could expand this book to talk about God’s will and how God’s plan is better for our life than what we think we want. I loved how there we comprehension questions at the end along with activities to further the learning.
