Have you ever really thought about this question? I mean sat down and truly pondered the answer?
For most of us, our heads know that Jesus is God’s son. Born as a baby. Died, buried, rose again. All true answers but sometimes answers that we quote back in rote memory like a preschooler in Sunday School class.
But really, who is Jesus?
A few weeks ago, our pastor answered this question in a way that I had never heard before. Read and let the words soak in. There is power in the answer.
To the man who lost his job, Jesus is the provider, strength, and peace.
To the couple in a broken marriage, Jesus is forgiver, grace, uplifter, counselor, comforter, the true love.
To those abused, Jesus is the healer and restorer.
To the abuser, Jesus is the forgiver and redeemer.
To the grieving, Jesus is the comforter.
To a parent, Jesus is wisdom and giver of peace.
To the controller, Jesus is freedom and sovereign.
To those at war, Jesus is the restorer.
To those bored with life, Jesus is the creator and joy giver.
Now it’s your turn. Who is Jesus to you?
