A sweet friend of mine posted this idea on their family blog. I knew that I needed to share it with you!.
If you could request 10 wishes to be fulfilled by your mate, what would they be? Clean toilets? I am kidding… sort of. 🙂 Five years ago, B and I traded our top 10 wish list. Here is what we did. I bought/found 2 boxes, one girlie and the other manly. I also bought fun paper and cut it into 20 strips. 10 for each of us. And then we sat and dreamed. Dreaming of our wishes and putting them on paper. For example I wished for B and I to work a puzzle together.
I also wished he would surprise me with lunch. Read a book out loud with me. The sky is the limit! B and I both found it interesting and insightful to discover wishes that we would have never known. As far as a time line… we each drew a wish weekly and we did not tell each other what we drew. We just let our actions speak for themselves. B and I have done this top 10 wish list several times and it’s about time to do it again! Hmmm. It’s time for me to start dreaming!!! 🙂
I loved this idea so much. Although my friend did this with her husband, I think this is an idea that could be tweaked and used with your kiddos as well.
What do you think?

I love the idea – the hard thing about something like this is the worry that the wish will really make you have to give something outside of your comfort zone. I think that is why we don't give into the wishes of others or share our wishes on a regular basis anyway:)

I think this is a great idea!! I started off the year wanting to do more fun stuff with my boys and I got lots of pamphlets and let Bubba pick and choose where he'd love to go this year, of course he also picked simpler things like the zoo or a picnic at the park. But now have a great list of activities to plan for special family time this year.
