From my latest review…
Isaiah 40:11
He tends his flock like a shepherd:
He gathers the lambs in his arms
and carries them close to his heart;
he gently leads those that have young.
Reread the last line – “He gently leads those that have young.” Do you know who Isaiah is talking about? Moms! God loves moms!
This is what author Shelly Radic has to say about this passage in her book Momology.
These words describe how God loves moms in much the same way we love our kids. God tends to moms, ensuring we’re nourished and safe even as we tend our kids. God holds moms close to his heart while we’re engaging in cuddling our little ones. God provides a place of comfort when we’re cranky, scared, hurt, confused, or just need a little more attention.
Did you just feel your shoulders relax a little? Feel like a load as been lifted? As a mom of littles, it is easy to get bogged down. Showers become a luxury and going to the bathroom in peace becomes a fantasy. Quiet times get interrupted, if they happen at all. Does God forget about us during this stage of life?
No, friend. Again read Isaiah 40:11. God is leading us through this time. We are never out of His sight. Feast on this promise today. Fill renewed and refreshed.
