I received a question from Karen concerning the website:
I purchased your three year old curriculum and realized that not all the lessons are the same as on the web. Is there a reason you changed the lessons? And can I get links to the older lessons if I want to use them? I love the curriculum and appreciate all the work you put into the site.
Great question!
If you follow this blog, you will remember that I did a revamping of the 3 Year Curriculum and a major overhaul to the 4 Year Curriculum in the spring. Here is a blog explaining the changes that were made to the 3 Year and 4 Year Curriculum. I have received a lot of positive feedback concerning the upgrades.
As I find new ideas, improve on the old ideas, and tweak the present ideas, I change the curriculum. As people send me ideas, I add them to the website. The website is daily changing in one way or another. Please check back for the most up to date lesson plans!
This question was asked during our ABC Jesus Loves Me Group (on Facebook) chat on Monday:
Since there have been so many great changes, would you suggest purchasing an updated book?
The point of the Curriculum and Worksheet Books are to save you the time of having to print them out as well as providing you everything in one place. The first time that I printed out one of the curriculum, it took me 45 minutes – and that was without any interruptions or printer jams. Then I remembered an article that I read stating that some printers cost up to 30 cents per page to print. That said, I had just spend 45 minutes of my life and up to $30 on one curriculum (without worksheets)!
Right then and there, I realized that I would save a lot of people a lot of time and money by offering the curriculum and worksheets in book form.
Just received this update from an ABCJLM friend on Facebook:
After hours of work, a ream of paper, and most of an ink cartridge, I am finally done prepping my son’s 3 year-old ABCJLM year. Next year, I will order the book, ha ha! Thank you for all of your hard work!
To answer the question, I would purchase a new curriculum book every year. There are so many improvements, I would hate to see you miss out on the new ideas! I also know your time is limited and the entire curriculum was created to help you utilize your time the best way possible.
