Four Seasons Tree Activity

02/01/2012 by Heidi

Both the ABCJesusLovesMe 4 and 5 Year Curricula study the Four Seasons. Those children using the 4 Year Curriculum create a Four Seasons Wheel each week adding another season.

Winter Tree  Print the “Winter Tree” and add snowflakes.  Post the finished tree on a wall adding pictures around it that depict winter.  Also add names or pictures of people whose birthday are in this season.

Spring Tree Print the “Spring Tree” and add blooms.  Post the finished tree on a wall under and right of the Winter Tree (at 3:00) adding pictures around it that depict spring.  Add the arrow moving from winter to spring.  Also add names or pictures of people whose birthday are in this season.

Summer Tree Print the “Summer Tree” and add green leaves and apples.  Post the finished tree on a wall below the Winter Tree (at 6:00) adding pictures around it that depict summer.  Add the arrow moving from spring to summer.  Also add names or pictures of people whose birthday are in this season.

Fall Tree Print the “Fall Tree” and add fall-colored leaves.  Post the finished tree on a wall under and left of the Winter Tree (at 9:00) adding pictures around it that depict fall.  Add the arrow moving from summer to fall.  Also add names or pictures of people whose birthday are in this season.

– With the Four Seasons Wheel finished, add the final arrow from fall to winter.  Discuss how it is a cycle and one season rolls into the next one.

This activity is available on the ABCJesusLovesMe.com website in the Four Seasons printable.

You could also talk about the animals that live in trees and what they might be doing depending on the seasons. For example, squirrels gathering nuts for the winter, baby birds hatching, etc.
