Join Our Book Study: Shepherding a Child’s Heart

The Tedd Tripp book was suggested in a comment in our ABC Jesus Loves Me Group.  I wasn’t surprised because it has been shared several times by our group members.  Actually the premise of the book Shepherding a Child’s Heart is the reason why the 4 Year ABCJLM Preschool Curriculum focuses on character education.

Digging deep to parent the “why’s” instead of just the outward behavior.  

Isn’t that our goal?  Parenting the heart.

I read Shepherding a Child’s Heart when my children were little-little and we only had 2 or 3 children at the time.  So, it has been a few years.  When I realized that the Kindle edition was only $1.99 on Amazon, I jumped at the opportunity to read it again. 

While on the treadmill, reading the first few pages, the Holy Spirit nudged me to begin a book study with the ABCJLM family!  What a fabulous idea!  When I posted a comment on Facebook, many of you agreed.

Shepherding a Child’s Heart isn’t a perfect book.  There may be things that you disagree with.  Nor is it the end-all to parenting.  What Tedd Tripp does is remind us to focus on winning the child’s heart instead of disciplining the behavior.  Together let’s glean from the author’s wisdom so that we can turn our children toward their Savior.
