My husband and I are continually dumbfounded but the yuck and trash on the square boxes in our home called televisions. Even while watching “family friendly” programs, we have to keep our fingers on the forward buttons for the sexually driven commercials! It truly makes my heart sick the filth that is streaming into homes across this country. Because of this our children watch no cable TV without one of us in the room and even then watch only a couple of hours a month of TV programs or movies.
I was excited when I was asked to share with you a network filled with family-friendly programs without commercials! gMovies is a streaming network filled with almost 300 faith friendly feature films of every
genre. (Think “Netflix” for families.) For only $4.99 a month, you and your family can watch these movies and shows on your iPad, Android, or PC.
My husband I sat down one evening after putting our kiddos to bed to give gMovies a try. We found some videos that we had seen prior on the Hallmark Channel and some popular Christians actors like Kirk Cameron and his sister Candace Cameron Bure. In the children category, I was amused to see Davey and Goliath which my siblings and I used to watch as kids. To my surprise there were a few Mandie episodes from the popular Mandie series by Lois Gladys Leppard
which I read as a girl.
We were a little disappointed to see the “level” of programs. I was hoping to find children programs more along the lines of RightNow Media but instead found closer to Hallmark and LifeTime level. Don’t get me wrong. I love me some Hallmark movies! Absolutely no thinking involved and everything works out in the end. Just want to make sure that I accurately portray this network.
The great thing about gMovies is that you don’t have to keep your hand on the forward button and fear your children will be exposed to unquestionable material.
