And like that… a seventh full ABCJesusLovesMe Curriculum is finished. The second in the “Then They’ll Grow” Sunday School Curriculum picks up where the Old Testament Curriculum stopped.
NEW TESTAMENT CURRICULUM
The mission of the New Testament Curriculum is to teach children who God is through the stories in the New Testament. Forty-three lessons cover Jesus’ ministry, miracles, and parables, as well as lesser-known stories of the First Church. Nine additional lessons for Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are provided to implement as needed. Each week provides a specific memory verse, song, activities, and Bible script to teach children the Bible story in an age-appropriate way.
Preschool VS Sunday School CURRICULum
I’ve been asked several times with which ABCJesusLovesMe Preschool Curriculum (1-5 Year) does the Sunday School Curriculum coordinate. The answer is none of them. The two curricula are completely separate. The Preschool Curriculum teachers academics, Bible, and development. The Bible Curriculum teaches the Bible.
The Sunday School Curriculum was written specifically for Sunday School, Wednesday Night Church, preschool, and daycare use. But, many families are also using it for Bible time and family devotions.
WHY CREATE A BIBLE CURRICULUM?
For the last few years, I have felt God calling me to create a Curriculum specifically for churches and preschools. I knew that I wanted it to cover 52 weeks, include memory verses, songs, and activities. But for whatever reason, I couldn’t figure out the details. So I sat on the vision waiting for God to explain more.
One day my husband and I had a meeting with our pastor. In the conversation, he made the comment, “Start with who God is.” Suddenly I realized that God wanted me to teach children who He is.
See, when a person’s life centers around who God is, everything else falls into place.
- No longer is God a religion. It’s about grace.
- No longer is it about me. It’s about who God is.
- No longer is the focus on what I should do. It’s about what God is doing and joining Him in the work.
