How to Daily Pray for Your Spouse

07/04/2014 by Heidi

This post has been updated and the daily prayers for your spouse is now available as a free printable.

Updated Blog Post on Parenting to Impress

Once again I found an idea from my Women’s Ministry folder that I wanted to pass along.  Today it is daily scripture based prayers to pray for your spouse.  While they are written for a wife to prayer over her husband, each prayer could easily be turned into prayers for your wife or for your children’s spouses.  Print a copy to add to your Quiet Time Notebook.

Sunday
That my husband might become a holy man of prayer, mature in the Lord, growing in his knowledge of God. (l Thes. 5:23; Col. 4:12; Eph. 1:18-19, 3:16-19,6:18)

That my husband might daily seek God with all his heart, always walking in the Spirit, growing in his dependence on Him. (Ps. 27:4; 119:l-2; Prov. 3:5-6; John 15:5)

Monday
That my husband might learn to take every thought captive, to not be conformed to the world’s thinking and to think scripturally. (Rom. l2:2; ll Cor. l0:5)

That my husband would learn to not depend on his circumstances for happiness, but on God alone. (Hab. 3:17-19)

Tuesday
That my husband might have new strength in the midst of his busy schedule and that the Lord might infuse him with His strength. (ls. 40:31 ; Eph. 3:14-l 9)

That my husband’s self-image might be a reflection of the Lord’s thoughts toward him. (Eph. l:17-19; Rom. l2:3; Ps. 139)

Wednesday
That my husband might become a called man, not driven, with well-thought-through and prayed-through goals in life. (l Cor. 9:24-27)

That the Lord might give my husband wisdom to lead his family physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. (Eph. 1:17-19; James l:5-7)

Thursday
That my husband might stand firm against the schemes of the devil and resist Satan in all circumstances. (Eph. 6:10-l 8; James 4:7)

That my husband might not be deceived into unbelief or sin. (Matt. l3:58; Gal. 6:7)

Friday
That the fruit of the Spirit might be exhibited more and more in my husband’s life. (Gal. 5:22-23)

That my husband might learn to love as God has commanded. (1 Cor. 13:4-7; Rom. 12:8-10)

Saturday
That the Lord might protect my husband, guarding his course. (Prov. 2:8)

That my husband might learn to manage his time well. (Eph. 5:15)
