I had a person tell me that kids don’t really understand anything about God or the Bible. So sad…because this person was sadly mistaken. It says in Mark 10:14-15 –
“Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.”
It is the childlike faith that allows us to understand God. Thought I would share some information I read in our Children’s Church bulletin.
Infants and Toddlers – Your infants and toddlers are at the age that they can feel God’s love for them by what they hear about Him through those caring for them.
Preschoolers – Your preschooler can know and understand basic concepts about God’s truth and Jesus’ love through pictures, stories, and songs.
Kindergartners – Your kindergartner is beginning to understand God’s personal love for them. They will begin to realize their need for God in their lives.

Wow! My boys understand about God and the Bible because I have made them real to them. They each have their own Bibles and they read them and take them to church every Sunday. We talk about God all the time. I find my oldest (4) praying to God every now and then. Their favorite songs include "Jesus Loves Me" and "He's Got the Whole World". My son has the kind of faith that I strive for.

I totally agree with you. I feel like my 7 and 4 year old understand it more than I do because they just believe. Here is a clip of my 4 year old… http://www.teachingtwo.com/2010/11/28/insight-from-a-child/
