In 2011 the 2 Year Curriculum was added to the ABCJesusLovesMe website. It has guided 1000’s of families and teachers in being intentional with the toddlers in their lives. But, there comes a time when all must be remodeled. Today I am sharing the details with you. And you are going to love the changes!
Easier-to-Read Layout
Copying the layout of the 1 Year Curriculum – 2nd Edition, the new format makes the Lesson Plans easier to read and follow. The Items Needed section is listed in columns to quickly gather supplies. The objective list and Daily Schedule have been combined for simplicity.
Additional Ideas
The Complete 2 Year Curriculum for ages 24-36 months includes ideas not available in the basic, online Curriculum. Discover ideas for Field Trips, Making Memories, and additional teaching tips to explain the why and how of teaching each objective.
Remodeled Worksheets
Clearer images and more learning provided in each worksheet.
Updated Objectives and Activities
Some objectives removed. Some activities revised. Some ideas reorganized. But all have been updated to further the learning. For example, the Complete 2 Year Curriculum now introduces phonetic sounds to prepare the child for reading.
IMPORTANT: These remodeling changes will NOT be made to the basic, online curriculum.
Interactive Bible Stories
New Addition to the Curriculum: The 2 Year Interactive Bible Stories Digital Download contains age-appropriate, interactive Bible scripts for all the Bible stories in the 2 Year Curriculum. Also included are weekly Teachable Moment ideas to make the story relevant to the child(ren) taught. Optional flannelgraph suggestions are included.
Preschool-Specific Ideas
Because not all activities are conducive to both a classroom and home setting, notes have been made in the Lesson Plans to share ideas for both learning atmospheres.
