Where has the summer gone? If you’re anything like me, you’re still in denial that we’re halfway through 2025. But even in the midst of a quickly passing season, I want to offer three reminders to help you finish summer with purpose and peace.
1. It’s Not Too Late to Make a Simple Summer Plan
When the kids were little, I loved using summer as a time to focus on character development, academic growth, deepening our relationship with God, and building family memories. All of this, though, is hard to do without some kind of structure.
Not a rigid schedule, but a gentle guide—something to help this momma navigate each day with intention.

2. Family Road Trips Can Be Fun… Even for Mom!
When you hear “family vacation,” what’s the first thing you feel? For me, it’s a blend of excitement and stress. I’ve known both ends of the spectrum—unforgettable memories and also overwhelming moments.
But here’s the truth: even the challenging trips have been worth it. What started as a simple staycation eventually turned into meaningful adventures in the US – serene beaches to majestic National Parks.

Balancing Productivity and Rest This Summer
If you’re a Type A personality like I am, hear this: it is okay to rest.
Rest isn’t about escape or entitlement. It’s biblical. God modeled rest in Creation, commanded it in Scripture, and designed us to need it.
Summer is a perfect time to embrace this. Sit outside. Open your Bible for time with God. Breathe in God’s beauty. But remember—it won’t happen unless you give yourself permission to pause. Unplug. Be still. Let God refuel you for the good work He’s called you to do.
