Bubs had a really rough weekend. It was a roller coaster of emotions with him happy at one moment and screaming fit for the next. As I have stated before, Bubs is a very sweet little boy. His "fits" are so few and far between now that when they hit it totally takes me by surprise. I have had others ask me what I mean by "fit". Good ...
Disabilities
When we dreamed about a family, my husband and I never imagined the challenges that we would face. It wasn't in our plans to have children with diagnoses and disabilities. But, none of this was a surprise to God. He knew that our children would need us; and we would need them.
This blog was started to encourage and help families, especially those with challenging children. While reading these posts, I pray that you will find ideas to implement in your home. Secondly, I pray that you will find hope and encouragement knowing that you are not alone. Finally, we pray that God will use Our Story to encourage you.
How Do I Explain, Part 3

I think about this question a lot. I don't want Bubs to have special treatment but I want teachers to ...
Active Sensory Activities
I stated that Bubs has had a rough few days. Yesterday morning Bubs had OT. I was curious to see how he would do. His therapist had him do a lot of active sensory activities - ball pit, trampoline, swing, and throwing the weighted ball. Then they did some block activities - Blind Blocks. Both the OT and I were interested to see that he was ...

Just a Late Bloomer?
When we started Bubs with Occupational Therapy, we had several people comment on our decision. One of the comments we received came by way of a mom of three children. Her suggestion was that we just wait because Bubs might be a late bloomer like her son was. Last night, my husband and I were talking about that exact comment while thinking ...
